  1. Hippo to grow homeowners program from 8 to 22 states

    Hippo said it will add 14 states in the fourth quarter of 2026 through national distribution partners. Florida was not on the list of new states, and Hippo did not name its current 8 states.

  2. AM Best affirms Spinnaker group at A- (Excellent)

    AM Best affirmed Spinnaker's A- Financial Strength Rating and a- issuer credit rating. This covers its reinsured subsidiaries too. The outlook is stable. AM Best cited Hippo capital support and 2025 surplus notes.

  3. Hippo extends new homes program to Florida

    Hippo added Florida, California and Texas to its new construction homeowners program. It is sold through builder partners. Hippo said this would open insurance to almost 50,000 more new homes in the three states.

  4. Hippo sells Mainsail to Emerald Bay

    Hippo agreed to sell Mainsail Insurance Company to Emerald Bay Risk Solutions. It was a Spinnaker unit. OIR had approved it to write in Florida in November 2023. Hippo later reported $26.6 million cash from the sale.
